Pregnancy After Miscarriage
When can we start trying to get pregnant again?
There is no specific time that it is safe to begin trying again. Health care providers have many different points of view. Some recommend waiting at least 3 months after your loss to give your body time to heal. If your loss was during the first trimester this is usually a necessary wait from a physical point of view, however, it may make sense for some women to wait to allow the shock of the loss to wear off and to begin to assimilate their feelings before attempting a new pregnancy.
In most cases, it is possible to get pregnant on your first cycle after your loss. You should discuss with your health care provider whether or not this is the right option in your specific case. If your doctor recommends waiting a period of time, ask them to explain why.
